MEET MISTER hancock
John Hancock (January 23rd 1737 - October 8th 1793)
John Hancock was the 4th President of the Continental Congress at the point the Declaration of Independence was adopted and signed in 1776 and it is John Hancock’s signature which is the largest and most prominent on the famous document.
According to legend Hancock signed his name so largely so that King George could read it without his spectacles. He really wanted to make sure the King knew they were serious about an independent America!
Hancock’s signature is so large that in America your ‘Hancock’ is your signature!
HOW IT ALL started
Hancock's was born out of a passion for great American food and exception service. We're a family who just love real, dirty food from the States and who believe that a meal out is something to be relished! We want you to enjoy your experience here and come back time and time again.
Today at Hancock’s, our constitution demands that we serve the very best food from all over the United States in our own style with our signature sauces and rubs. Grab a cocktail, or try one of our craft beers and get ready for a feast
…and welcome to the family!
