Types of data we collect
When someone visits www.hancocksrestaurants.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
When you use our Hancock’s Guest Wi-Fi in one of our restaurants we may collect data about: a) your device; b) the volume of data which you use; c) the websites and applications which you access; and d) your usage by access time, frequency and location.
As part of the registration process for our newsletter, offers, discounts and Hancock’s club & app, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about new products, offers and discounts; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses. We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing email@example.com and asking to be removed from our mailing lists.
When using our App, you may provide us with the following Information: a) your name and contact details (email address and mobile telephone number), if you use the App to book a table at one of our restaurants; b) further information (mobile phone number, date of birth, favourite restaurants, details about other members of your family who might be interested in our services, if you use the App to register as a registered user or subscribe to receive updates or offers from us. To become a registered user you must provide us with your name, postcode, email address, and date of birth, but you may also provide us with additional information if you choose to do so; c) information which allows us to identify your credit or debit account details to complete a transaction with you, should you elect to pay for your takeaway or pay your restaurant bill using the ‘Pay at Table’ function via the App; d) your physical location, where you have agreed to it being used for the restaurant locator feature on the App or where you allow the App to access your location settings; and e) other Information that may be provided by you when adding content to our App, or to our social network pages such as Facebook.
Access to your personal information
Under GDPR, the data subject has the right to access and amend any of their personal data that you hold. Make it easy for them by including a name and contact email. You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
